Dr. Daniel Markel

Dr. Daniel Markel grew up in Voorhees, New Jersey, where his passion for arts and athletics first took shape. A two-time National Championship finalist in Latin ballroom dance, he loved coaching students and helping them grow—an experience that inspired his approach to orthodontics: guiding transformations and watching confidence bloom.

Dr. Markel earned his BS in Biology from Villanova University and his DMD from Temple University Kornberg School of Dentistry, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude and was inducted into the prestigious Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society. He completed his residency in orthodontics at Temple University, earning a Certificate in Orthodontics and a Master’s in Oral Health Sciences. His clinical skill was recognized nationally when he was named a finalist for the Journal of Clinical Orthodontics Student of the Year.

His approach to patient care is simple: “Listen First.” He takes time to understand each patient’s concerns and focuses on long-term oral health as well as creating beautiful smiles. Dr. Markel brings a modern focus to the practice with specialized expertise in Invisalign and clear aligner therapy, having completed the Aligner Intensive Fellowship and Clear Aligner Advanced Residency Education (CAARE).

Dr. Markel’s favorite moment in orthodontics is “Debond Day”—the first time a patient sees their new smile and feels that immediate, authentic boost of confidence.

Outside the office, he enjoys walking around the city, exploring local “hole-in-the-wall” restaurants, dancing, and serving as the “neighborhood travel agent” for friends and family. A first-generation American whose family immigrated from Ukraine, Dr. Markel is fluent in Russian and has a deep appreciation for Eastern European history and culture.

Joining Roberts & DeMarsche Orthodontists as a partner, Dr. Markel is excited to work alongside Dr. Roberts to serve the Philadelphia community, giving back to the city that shaped his education and building a legacy of patient care.
